Need to get AWAY? We are Colorado’s best-kept secret, perched at 10,100' up in the spectacular San Juan Mountains of southwestern Colorado. Only 3 miles from the historic mining town of Creede, yet a world away, we offer the ultimate in privacy and seclusion! The only facility on Gold Dust Road, we are surrounded by National Forest and designated winter elk graze. To further ensure your tranquility, our facility is adults only, although the entire facility may be booked for families. Each of our four guest rooms has French doors opening to the patio and the incomparable views of the Rio Grande Valley beyond. Each room has a private bath, (one with a jacuzzi).

Activities
Winter
In the winter months, cuddle up with your someone special for a romantic ride in our one-horse open sleigh, along a snow-covered lane that sparkles like so many diamonds in the sun. Strap on your snowshoes and prepare to be dazzled by the views—no matter which direction you look! You can access groomed cross country ski trails right from our door—all for free—or, take advantage of the free cross-country ski lesson we offer by our resident masters World Cup bronze medallist! Then return to the warmth of the fireside in the guests’ great room, and enjoy a mug of hot chocolate while you catch the evening alpenglow settling on the Continental Divide, and watch the elk and mule deer ambling through the yard. Go wild with your camera, spy on the resident elk herd (Why not? They spy on us!), coyotes, fox, mule deer, lynx and, of course, the ubiquitous mountain jays, who will swipe the toast right from your hand if you’re not careful while breakfasting on the patio.
Summer In the summer months, join us for a hike to one of the many breathtaking overlooks in the area. Spend a day fishing the beaver ponds or the Rio Grande. Go for a trail ride with a local outfitter, or try a chuckwagon supper, and follow that with an evening at the Creede Repertory Theater. Don’t want to head back to the crowd in town? Just grill a steak on the patio grill, and pop biscuits or toast marshmallows at the campfire. Or just lounge in the hammock amidst the indescribable scenery and serenity that is our back yard.

Getting Here
By Air
Creede has a 7500' paved runway for private plane access. The nearest commercial airport is Alamosa, Colorado, usually offering 3 flights a day. Colorado Springs and Pueblo, Colorado as well as Albuquerque, New Mexico offer more options, but would entail a 4-, 3- or 5- hour drive, respectively.
By Car
4-wheel drive is recommended in winter and snowmelt seasons. From Colorado Springs, take I-25 south to the first Walsenburg exit, Route 160 west. Follow 160 over La Veta Pass, through Alamosa to South Fork.
In South Fork, pick up Colorado 149—the Silver Thread Scenic Byway—and follow it 21 spectacular miles to Creede. When driving through the canyon along the Rio Grande River between South Fork and Creede, mind your speed at dawn and dusk, as the deer and elk are numerous along the river during these hours.
In Creede, pick up the Bachelor Road from the south end of town, just across highway 149 from the town ballfield. From where you leave highway 149, (check your odometer), drive 2.5 miles up the Bachelor Road, bearing left any time you are in doubt as to which is the "main" road, to a very sharp left onto FSR 504.1B. Our green gate is 1000’ up the 504.1B. Come through the gate, drive past the building, and park on the far end by the red skis.
